Yet companies in the UK are half as likely to go from medium-sized to large as they are in the US. We want to help change this.

Our vision is shaped by entrepreneur Richard Harpin, who acquired Business Leader in 2023. Richard has personally experienced the trials and triumphs of
growing a business, having taken his own venture HomeServe from £50,000 of initial capital 30 years ago to a sale in 2023 for £4.1bn.

That journey has influenced our focus. We exist to provide CEOs, founders and entrepreneurs with the kind of support Richard wishes he had when
he was starting and growing his business. With that, he could have grown HomeServe into a billion-pound business that much faster.

Our ownership means we understand the unique challenges faced by companies seeking to scale up. These companies in the so-called “forgotten
middle” face different challenges to start-ups and large businesses. And so they need specific and targeted support.

We aim to offer that support through membership, content and events. We want to serve as the ultimate destination for business insight, community and mentoring. Our commitment is to inspire breakthroughs and bridge the support gap for mid-size companies by getting CEOs and founders talking and sharing
both their successes and failures.
