At Business Leader, we believe mid–sized businesses are the most overlooked and underestimated segment of the UK economy. These are the companies with 15+ staff and at least £3m of annual revenues – fast–moving and full of potential lead by an ambitious Founder / CEO.
Yet they grow in isolation. They're too big for start-up support and too small for institutional focus. That's where we come in.
Business Leader exists to champion and support mid–sized businesses on the journey to becoming large. Through staged based peer–to–peer forums, expert coaching, strategic content and a powerful national network, we help CEOs and Founders scale faster – with clarity, purpose and confidence.
A sense of duty to help others
Business Leader is owned by Richard Harpin, Founder of HomeServe, which he built from a £50,000 start–up into a £4.1 billion sale, a global success story that took 30 years; a journey that he believes could have been done in half the time with an organisation like Business Leader. Richard also owns Growth Partner, a private investment firm backing Founder-led businesses across the UK.
Richard believes the key to a thriving economy is helping more mid–sized businesses become large. Through Business Leader and Growth Partner, he’s built a national platform to do just that – investing in and connecting ambitious CEOs with the insight, tools and community they need to grow.

The Business Leader council
The Business Leader Council is a powerful group of entrepreneurs, experts and former CEOs committed to influencing the future of British business.
