Zenobe builds and operates battery facilities to store excess renewable energy created by solar panels and wind turbines. It also helps transport companies, logistics firms and schools transition to electric vehicles. A third arm of the business recycles electric vehicle batteries. Basden set up the London-based firm in 2017 after time as a management consultant. He also once served as the executive chairman of iconic car brand Caterham. Steven Meersman, another founder, remains on the board, but a third - Nicholas Beatty - has retired. Zenobe has now grown operations in Australia and New Zealand. A 2023 fundraising valued the business at around £1bn.
