James Basden and Steven Meersman are the founding directors of Zenobē, a UK-headquartered clean-energy firm specialising in battery storage, electric-fleet electrification and second-life battery solutions. Basden set up the London-based firm in 2017 after time as a management consultant.
He also once served as the executive chairman of the iconic car brand Caterham. Steven Meersman, another founder, remains on the board, but a third - Nicholas Beatty - has retired. Zenobe has now grown operations in Australia and New Zealand. A 2023 fundraising valued the business at around £1bn.
