Vishal Marria is a British entrepreneur and technology leader who co-founded Quantexa and serves as its chief executive officer. He studied computer science at Royal Holloway, University of London, and earned a master’s in business information systems. Early in his career, he held roles at data analytics and consulting firms, including Detica (later part of BAE Systems) and SAS before joining EY, where he became one of the youngest executive directors.
In 2016, Marria founded Quantexa with the goal of helping organisations make faster, smarter decisions by connecting disparate data, mapping relationships and applying machine learning at scale. Under his leadership, the company has grown rapidly: it achieved unicorn status, expanded across multiple regions and earned recognition as one of the UK’s fastest-growing tech companies. Marria’s strategic focus includes developing “decision intelligence” solutions that enable clients in banking, insurance, telecoms and public sector to combat fraud, manage risk and unlock opportunity.
Marria also advocates for ethical use of AI and data, emphasising transparency, context and value creation rather than technology for its own sake. His story of moving from a South London upbringing and family-business roots into founding a global tech company reflects a blend of commercial ambition, technical insight and social awareness. Today, he continues to drive Quantexa’s global growth, working to expand its capabilities, enter new markets and build a platform that positions data as a strategic asset for organisations worldwide.
