Sir Peter Ogden and Sir Philip Hulme are the co-founders of Computacenter, one of the UK’s largest and most enduring technology services companies. Launched in 1981, the business was founded on a shared vision to help organisations harness the emerging power of personal computing and enterprise IT. Before their partnership, Ogden had studied physics, earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, and worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, where he gained deep experience in corporate finance and technology investment.

Hulme, meanwhile, studied engineering at Imperial College London and earned an MBA from Harvard before joining the Boston Consulting Group as a vice-president and director. Their combined technical, analytical and commercial expertise shaped Computacenter’s early strategy and culture of excellence. Under their leadership, Computacenter expanded rapidly through the 1980s and 1990s, becoming the trusted IT partner to major corporate and public-sector clients across the UK and Europe.

The company floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1998 and has since grown into a FTSE 250 multinational with thousands of employees worldwide. Both Ogden and Hulme have been recognised for their contributions to business and philanthropy, each receiving knighthoods. Ogden established The Ogden Trust, supporting science education and widening access to opportunity, while Hulme founded The Hadley Trust, which funds social and community initiatives. Together, they represent a rare blend of technical insight, business vision, and lasting social impact — helping to define modern British enterprise in both technology and philanthropy.
