The Buckinghamshire-based Causeway Technologies provides software that helps housebuilders, local authorities and other clients manage construction projects. Its suite of products includes traffic management systems that communicate with satnav operators, helping drivers cope with disruption from road maintenance works. Brown co-founded Causeway more than 25 years ago and since then more than 3,000 organisations have used the company’s services. A fundraising in 2021 valued Causeway at £1.3bn. Since then, the firm’s turnover has climbed by more than 50 per cent and the headcount has grown to 500. After many years as chief executive, Brown moved into the role of executive chairman early in 2025.
