How we compiled the Growth 500

The Growth 500 is the largest and most comprehensive guide to the fastest-growing businesses in the UK. Compiled by Robert Watts, the man behind The Sunday Times Rich List, all the data has been sourced from publicly available annual accounts filed by businesses with Companies House between May 1, 2024, and April 23, 2025.

We analysed which UK-owned companies have grown their revenues the most over the past three financial years, ranking our list by percentage growth over this period. We did not solicit or accept submissions, instead relying on the official documents businesses file with Companies House.

Our sample included any business that reported annual turnover in excess of £3m in its most recent year. There was no upper limit. We also included included loss-making companies alongside those that are profitable and businesses in every sector of the economy.

Because our focus was British businesses, we stripped out subsidiaries of overseas companies. The creation of new holding companies or mergers and acquisitions made it impossible to be confident that we were making like-for-like comparisons. In some cases, we have removed companies from our list on this basis. We also took out any entity with accounts listed as overdue by Companies House at the time of our deadline.
