The four organisations generate more than £2.5bn in annual revenue between them (Places for People is the biggest with revenues of £832m in its latest financial year).

Second, these are misunderstood organisations at the heart of a high-profile sector. The housing associations are not-for-profit, but the cash and surplus they generate is still the heart of the organisation – that money is just reinvested back into operations.
